The scarcity of highly specialised courses in Brazil and the difficulty in finding new musicians for orchestras in the country led to the creation of the Instrument Class at the Osesp Music Academy.

The students attend theoretical and practical music lessons with permanent members of the orchestra, engage in the professional ensemble’s routine of concerts and rehearsals, and perform on the stage of Sala São Paulo.

The syllabus combines individual instrument lessons with professional development training in chamber music and orchestral practices, masterclasses with Osesp's guest soloists, and personalised music theory lessons.
